What is the difference between concentration (एकाग्रता) and meditation (ध्यान)? In this insightful Q&A session, Gurudev Anandmurti Gurumaa explains how one-pointed concentration is a means, a ladder, and a foundation for meditation—but concentration itself is not meditation. Through examples from music, painting, pottery, coding, diamond cutting and everyday life, she explains how concentration matures into meditation.
The discussion then moves into deeper questions of spiritual practice, discipline, karma, and the purpose of living wisely. Gurudev explains why regular sadhana, remembrance and inner discipline are essential if we want the peace and joy experienced in satsang to become stable in everyday life.
A beautiful portion of the session explores the devotion of Bhakta Prahlad through the words of Kabir Sahib. Prahlad’s unwavering remembrance of Lord Vishnu, his faith, courage and refusal to hate even those who harmed him offer profound lessons in devotion, compassion and spiritual understanding. The teaching reminds us that a true devotee does not live through hatred or द्वेष, but recognizes the divine presence in all.
The session also touches upon conscious living, food and simplicity. Through Kabir’s teachings on khichadi and simple food, Gurudev discusses mindful eating, moderation and the importance of making wise choices for body and mind. The conversation further explores paap and punya—not merely as ideas of heaven and hell, but as a practical way of living with honesty, empathy, compassion and respect for the rights of others.
Watch this powerful satsang for practical spiritual wisdom on meditation, concentration, devotion, discipline, karma, conscious living and the path of inner awakening. Through stories, questions and reflections, the session encourages us to pause before acting, speaking or following an impulse, and to cultivate awareness rather than reactivity. The closing prayer invokes divine grace and the qualities of Bhakta Prahlad, reminding us that we are never alone, but held in the love of the Divine.
