What starts as a simple picnic by the river turns into an unforgettable outdoor cooking day — with fresh bread, fire-grilled kebab, and an unexpected little rescue. We spent a peaceful day in nature, cooking everything from scratch beside the river. After washing our hands in the water, I prepared the chicken hearts and lamb fat, made fresh dough, and cooked warm homemade bread on a traditional saj over the fire. 🔥 Fire-Grilled Chicken Heart Kebab For the kebab, we mix chicken hearts and lamb fat with onion, salt, black pepper, and turmeric. We let everything marinate for about an hour. While grilling over the fire, we sprinkle paprika over the kebab for extra flavor and aroma. 🫓 Homemade Bread For the bread, we simply need flour, water, salt, and yeast. We mix everything together and let the dough rest for about an hour. Then we divide it into portions and bake the bread on a traditional saj, in a clay oven, or in a regular oven. After cooking, we enjoyed our meal surrounded by the river and beautiful countryside. Later, Eileen and I played by the water and found a small crab trapped inside a fishing net, so we carefully set it free.
