Join us for another chase along the Middletown & New Jersey Railroad, as classic EMD Geeps continue to keep freight moving across some of New York's most historic rails.
Starting out with some switching at Campbell Hall on the former Erie Railroad Graham Line, we follow MNJ's CH-2 job as the crew works one of their jobs toward Maybrook and Montgomery. With tank cars in tow, the crew serves important local industries, including Crestwood Midstream in Maybrook and Hunter Panels in Montgomery.
Along the way, we explore the history behind the rails being used today, taking a look at the legacy of Maybrook Yard, once a major New Haven Railroad freight gateway connecting New England with the rest of the country, and how today's operations continue to keep this historic corridor alive, against all odds. The Walden Industrial/Secondary also is the former New York Central Wallkill Valley Branch, which once extended north to Kingston, NY.
From classic EMD Geeps to tank car movements and historic railroad routes, the MNJ continues to showcase the best of short line railroading in the Hudson Valley.
Thanks for chasing with us! Be sure to check out our other Middletown & New Jersey Railroad videos
