The Crowd Heard Thunder. Jesus Heard His Father

Why did the crowd in Jerusalem hear thunder while Jesus heard His Father? In this Bible explainer, we trace every time God's voice rang out loud in Scripture, from the Garden of Eden to Jerusalem, and what happened next. In John 12, a voice from heaven speaks in front of a crowd. Some people say "thunder." Others say "an angel." Jesus says the voice came for one reason, and it changes how you read every other moment God spoke aloud in the Bible. 📖 In this video: • Eden: the voice that walked in the garden (Genesis 3) • Cain and Abel: the voice from the ground (Genesis 4) • Mount Sinai: a nation begs God to stop speaking (Exodus 19–20) • Samuel and Eli: the boy who could not tell the voice (1 Samuel 3) • Job: 35 chapters of silence, then the whirlwind (Job 38) • The Jordan: the torn sky and "You are My beloved Son" (Mark 1, Luke 3) • Damascus Road: the sound Saul's companions heard (Acts 9) • Jerusalem: thunder, an angel, or the Father?
