God is on the Move - Judges 13 - Pastor Jim Schultz

What happens when God’s people don’t even realize how much they need a Savior? As we begin the story of Samson in Judges 13, we see a people who have wandered from God, yet God is already moving to save them. They haven’t cried out. They aren’t looking for Him. But God, in His grace, takes the initiative. Samson’s story reminds us that our hope isn’t ultimately found in human strength, giftedness, or even our own faithfulness. God is the One who saves. And while Samson will have every advantage and yet squander much of what God gives him, his story points beyond himself to a greater Savior. Jesus is the greater Samson, the One who finished what Samson could only begin. While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. While we were dead in our trespasses, God made us alive in Christ. The story of Samson begins with this good news: God is on the move. Message given at Hillside Evangelical Free Church on Whidbey Island. For more information, please visit: http://hillside-efc.com/
