A major alleged government fund scam has been uncovered by the Odisha Vigilance in Bhubaneswar R&B Division-1, involving more than ₹9.24 crore, according to the investigating agency. The investigation alleges that between 2022-23 and 2025-26, fake sanction orders and bills were prepared in the name of retired employees’ gratuity, unutilised leave salary and contingency funds. The bills were allegedly processed through the IFMS, with government funds transferred to private bank accounts. Vigilance has so far arrested six people and seized around ₹3.96 crore in connection with the case.
