Built by Baldwin in 1881, No. 346 ran for the Denver & Rio Grande Railroad until 1947. While on loan to the Colorado & Southern Railroad in 1936, it was wrecked in a runaway on Kenosha Pass, and was rebuilt by the Chicago Burlington & Quincy, Denver shops. Purchased in 1950 by Colorado Railroad Museum founder Robert Richardson, No. 346 is the Museum’s premiere operating engine, and runs regularly during steamup events. for more information see http://coloradorailroadmuseum.org/
