http://officetanaka.net/seminar/campa... ------------------------------------------------------------- When I demonstrated this technique at a recent seminar, I was surprised by how many attendees were unfamiliar with it. It is an incredibly practical feature that saves huge amounts of time in daily work. If you type "Mon" into a cell and drag the fill handle, Excel generates a series like "Mon, Tue, Wed... Sun." Starting with "Monday" produces "Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday... Sunday." However, if you attempt this with a custom abbreviation or non-standard format, Excel simply copies the same text down the column. It seems curious, but how does Excel's AutoFill actually work under the hood? In reality, these predefined sequences are stored directly within Excel. If a specific series fails to auto-fill, it is simply because that sequence is not registered yet. The feature that controls these sequences is called "Custom Lists." You can add your own custom lists here. Once registered, you can effortlessly create custom AutoFill sequences with the fill handle, or use them as custom sort orders for standard data range sorting. What many users do not realize is that Custom Lists can also be used to sort PivotTables! Be sure to incorporate this powerful tool into your Excel workflow. 【How to enable English subtitles】 1.
