Looking for a quick, comfort-food meal that comes together with zero stress? In this video, I’m showing you how to make a delicious and easy meatball-stuffed pasta dinner that’s perfect for busy weeknights!
I am keeping things super simple by using convenience shortcuts that don't sacrifice flavor. I’m taking store-bought premade frozen meatballs, loading them right inside large pasta shells, and smothering everything in rich Rao’s pasta sauce. Topped with lots of gooey, melted cheese and baked to bubbly perfection, this rich and cozy meal tastes like it took all day—but comes together in just minutes!
It’s the ultimate easy pasta casserole for when you need a dinner on a busy night.
Easy Meatball Stuffed Shells
Prep time: 15 minutes
Bake time: 25–30 minutes
Servings: 4–6
Ingredients
1 box (12 oz) Jumbo pasta shells
1 bag (approx.18 oz) Premade frozen meatballs (thawed or partially thawed for easy handling)
1 jar (32 oz) Rao’s Homemade pasta sauce (marinara or your favorite variety)
2 cups Shredded mozzarella cheese (or a blend of mozzarella and parmesan)
Optional: Dried Italian seasoning, garlic powder, or fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
Prep the oven and pasta: Preheat your oven to 350°F (190°C). Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the jumbo shells according to package directions until al dente (usually about 9–10 minutes). Drain and rinse with cool water so they are easy to handle.
Layer the sauce: Spread about 1 cup of Rao’s sauce across the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish to keep the shells from sticking.
Stuff the shells: Open each cooked pasta shell and insert one premade meatball inside. Arrange the stuffed shells side-by-side in your prepared baking dish.
Sauce and cheese: Pour the remaining Rao’s sauce generously over the top of all the stuffed shells. Sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly over the entire dish.
Bake: Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes (this helps the meatballs heat through without burning the cheese). Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and lightly golden.
Serve: Let cool for 5 minutes, garnish with fresh parsley or dried herbs if desired, and serve warm!
