Teshuvah 40 - Yet Closer Still

YET CLOSER STILL “Abide in Me, and I in you.” — John 15:4 Forty days of Teshuvah began with an invitation: Return. But returning was never the destination. Jesus was. We came because He called us. We turned because He drew us. And every time we turned to find Him, we discovered: He was already there. His kindness led us to repentance. His mercy met us on the road. His grace kept calling us home. And somewhere along the journey— Return became remaining. Striving became resting. And waiting… can become worship. Teshuvah does not end with a monument to our repentance. It brings us to Jesus, where returning becomes abiding. There is no graduation from dependence upon Him. No finish line to knowing Him. No depth of His love where we finally reach the bottom. So the prayer of Day 40 is not, “I made it.” It is: Closer, Jesus. Not because You are far away, but because there is more of You. I came because You called me. I remain because You love me. As close as I can get… yet closer still. Teshuvah — Day 40 Return • Receive • Remain Soli Deo Gloria. Just, only, always Jesus.
