"Getting Right" Nehemiah 9

People are NOT perfect! I think this is a statement on which we can all agree. We struggle with sin. We have times when we think and act in ways that don’t portray our “best side.” Even the Apostle Paul articulates this in Rom. 7, where he seems to do the things he doesn’t want to do! In fact, Israel, throughout their history has lived and done things that were far from perfect, even rejecting God. Nehemiah 8 displays how the powerful proclamation of God’s word instilled a great joy in the people--but it also produces something else--a gaze on our imperfections and sin. The question arises in Neh. 9--what does it take to be free of the slavery of sin? And how is confession a powerful tool in being free in Christ? I look forward to joining you all this Sunday!
