Ingrown toenails may look simple — but how we treat them matters. In this video, I compare two commonly used procedures: Partial Nail Avulsion with Phenolisation (PNA) and Sharp Wedge Resection. While both aim to relieve pain and prevent recurrence, they differ significantly in: • Tissue trauma • Healing time • Postoperative pain • Long-term outcomes In my practice, PNA is my preferred approach for the majority of cases, supported by both evidence and decades of clinical experience. That said, wedge resection still has an important role in carefully selected, complex presentations. This series is about education — sharing what works, what doesn’t, and why many patients continue to struggle after “failed” nail surgery. ▶️ Watch the full video to understand the biological differences between these techniques and how they influence recovery and results. 💬 If you’re a clinician, share your approach or ask a question below. 📩 If you’re a patient dealing with a recurrent ingrown toenail, reach out or book an assessment — the right diagnosis makes all the difference.
