Instrument rating ground school, episode 12: Missed Approach, Circling and Landing Minimums.
Every instrument approach ends one of three ways: a straight-in landing, a circle to another runway, or a missed approach. All three are decided by the same few rules about what you must see, where you must be, and how steeply you must climb. In this episode: when to go missed and why you fly to the missed approach point first, climb gradients and the DA40 NG, circling areas and categories, and the rules for going below the DA or MDA.
