A Vow Is Not Something You Read. It's Something You Live. | Joseph Farley 🔔 SUBSCRIBE TO THE CREATIVE MIND NETWORK:    / @thecreativemindnetwork   Let me ask you a question. How many books have you read that you never did one single thing with? Now be honest, I have a few of those myself. You can read about daily practice all day long. But daily practice is not something you read about. It's something that you do. And today, it's time to make a decision. Look how far we've come in this chapter. We started with the number seven, the number of completion, the number of covenant. And then the morning practice, how you start your day. And then the clue on the wall behind me, those scrolls that are right there, that hung there for 15 years before I knew what they said. Then the evening practice, the empty boat. Then the 90 days, then the Tao, the way of effortless action. And last time, the neuroscience of consistency. That's a lot of information. But the information doesn't change your life. Decisions do. In this teaching, Joseph Farley closes Chapter 7 of the Creative Mind Workbook with Section 7.8 — Your Covenant of Daily Practice. You'll learn: • The parable of the general and the sealed scroll • Why a vow is not something you read, but something you live • The biblical mandate to write the vision (Habakkuk 2:2) • Why the written vow is a visible vow (Deuteronomy 6:8-9) • How your journal becomes your scroll • The exact covenant to write down and sign today • Why the moment you decide is the moment your life begins to change There was a general who was about to lead his army into a battle that they couldn't win. The night before, he wrote something on a scroll, sealed it, and told his officers, "This is to be opened only if we win." The next morning, they went into battle. Against every odd, they won. So the officers opened the scroll, and here's what it said: "I vow to fight with all my strength, to never retreat, and to lead my men to victory. I will not break this vow. I will not surrender. I will not stop until the battle is won." The officer looked at him and said, "But we already won. Why did you need to write this?" And the general said, "A vow is not something you read. It's something you live." The words were not the power. The decision was the power. He made a decision before the battle. The scroll just held the decision in place. Your journal is that scroll. Write the covenant. Sign it. Put today's date on it. Because something happens when you sign your name. It stops being an idea. It becomes a decision. You don't have to feel ready. The general didn't feel ready. He was outnumbered. He decided anyway. The moment you decide, your life begins to change. 📚 REFERENCES MENTIONED • The Parable of the General and the Sealed Scroll • Habakkuk 2:2 — "Write the vision, and make it plain" • Deuteronomy 6:8-9 — "Bind them for a sign upon thine hand" • The 90-Day Covenant 📥 GET THE CREATIVE MIND WORKBOOK 🔔 SUBSCRIBE TO THE CREATIVE MIND NETWORK:    / @thecreativemindnetwork   💬 What is the one thing you have committed to do every day?
