Kolkata to Rudranath Bike Ride | Episode 3 | Haldwani | Sagar | Gwar | Kalpeshwar Temple

Our journey from Kolkata to the sacred Rudranath Temple continues into the heart of the Himalayas! After spending the night in Haldwani, we started Day 3 early in the morning and headed towards the mountains on our Honda H'ness CB350. Leaving the plains behind, we crossed Kathgodam Railway Station and continued towards the beautiful hill town of Bhimtal, where we stopped for breakfast before continuing our long Himalayan ride. The roads soon became more adventurous as we entered the winding mountain routes. Riding through the beautiful Ranikhet forest roads, surrounded by dense Himalayan greenery, peaceful villages and breathtaking mountain landscapes, made the journey truly special. As we continued deeper into Uttarakhand, we crossed several beautiful villages and mountain valleys before reaching the Karnaprayag region and eventually Chamoli. From Chamoli, we continued towards Sagar Village, our gateway to the next phase of this incredible journey. We stayed at Shiva Homestay in Gwar Village, approximately 2 km from Sagar, where we rested and prepared for the most challenging and exciting part of our expedition. During this leg of the expedition, we also explored the sacred Kalpeshwar Temple, another important Shiva shrine associated with the Panch Kedar tradition. The visit added a beautiful spiritual dimension to our motorcycle journey through the Himalayas. After exploring Kalpeshwar, we returned towards Gwar Village, completing this part of our road journey and preparing ourselves for what lies ahead. The next episode, the motorcycle journey ends and the Rudranath Trek begins. Our ultimate destination is Rudranath Temple, one of the sacred Panch Kedar temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. From Sagar, we will leave the roads behind and begin our trek through the remote Himalayan trails towards Rudranath. This journey is not just about riding a motorcycle. It is about exploring the Himalayas, experiencing its villages and landscapes, discovering sacred temples, and taking on the challenge of reaching one of Uttarakhand's most remote and spiritually significant destinations.
