Today, I'm making 35 mini bánh chưng, a traditional Vietnamese sticky rice cake often prepared for Lunar New Year. 🇻🇳
But there's a little challenge: I'm wrapping every single cake by hand, without using a mold! It took me almost three hours just to wrap all 35 little cakes.
Join me in our Vietnamese countryside as I collect fresh dong leaves from the garden, prepare sticky rice, mung beans, and pork, and carefully wrap each cake. Then, my father helps prepare the wood fire, and we cook the cakes slowly until they're ready to enjoy.
Along the way, you'll see simple moments of family life, traditional Vietnamese food, and the patience that goes into making something by hand.
Will all 35 mini bánh chưng turn out beautifully? Watch until the end to see the results! 🌿
