I put my solar panels, my e-bike and my 12V cooking gear to the ultimate test. Can the Car-Go Bike setup make a weekend overnighter enjoyable for me and my daughter? Can it provide enough power — and enough food — for two people? She wanted to come along. My mother had gifted her a folding e-bike as a hand-me-down. We wanted to take it easy, but not everything went as planned. Sandy roads drained far more battery than expected, dinner became a hybrid gas-and-12V operation, and breakfast didn't quite convince everyone. This was also a first test of whether the setup I've built for my solo trips could eventually work for the whole family. In this video, I haven't included much technical explanation, because the answer isn't measured in watts or amp-hours. Turn on the subtitles and relax. Some shots are blurred for privacy.
