But for those of us doing the deeper work of healing from childhood trauma, connecting with our inner child is anything but the latest trending topic. It's a tender, sometimes surprising, always vulnerable part of the healing journey, one that requires self-compassion in ways we may not be used to giving ourselves. In this video, I share my own recent experience of feeling unexpectedly connected to different parts of my inner child while reading through the final copy of my new workbook on healing your inner child. I also talk about why this kind of work matters for everyone who carries childhood wounding, and why what's happening collectively in the world right now may be making the inner child piece feel especially close to the surface. Here's what we cover: ✨ Why the way you approach inner child work shapes whether it supports your healing or causes more harm ✨ Why all of us carry some level of childhood wounding, and what happens when those wounds get ignored, denied, rationalized, or minimized ✨ The piece of ourselves we often become disconnected from, and why recognizing what needs healing can be so challenging ✨ My own surprising emotional experience reading the finished workbook, and what it reminded me about vulnerability in the healing journey ✨ Why the current cultural and societal climate may be activating inner child wounds for many survivors of childhood trauma ✨ A reminder about self-compassion when you're feeling irritable, struggling to concentrate, procrastinating, or beating yourself up ✨ A look at my new workbook Healing Your Inner Child, and an invitation to a small group experience for anyone who wants to go through it together Whether you're early in your healing journey or someone who has been doing this work for years, the inner child piece tends to meet us in ways we don't always expect. I hope this video offers some language, some validation, and a little softness for whatever is coming up for you right now. What came up for you while watching? I'd love to hear in the comments how the inner child piece is showing up for you in this season of your healing journey. ------------------ 🧘 Quiet Your Busy Mind, Honor Your Body, and Experience Restful Sleep with My Guided Meditation Album: https://tinyurl.com/34s9ac4p 📖 Heal Shame & Trauma Through Self-Compassion with My Guided Journal/Workbook: Deeply Rooted: https://tinyurl.com/453xunze 🌐 Explore More Options for Healing & Connection: https://tinyurl.com/4bcab573 ------------------ Links for other resources from Peggy Helpful Resources https://courageousjourneys.com/cjlinks Returning to Wholeness Journal Course for Healing Childhood Trauma https://courageousjourneys.com/course...
