Namaskar! 🙏 Welcome to Learn Sitar From Scratch – Lesson 27. In this lesson, we continue our Alankar practice and introduce an important technique: Pattern Reversal. Instead of always playing an Alankar in its original direction, we learn to reverse the pattern and play the same notes in the opposite order. For example: Sa Re Ga Ma → Ma Ga Re Sa This simple technique helps develop: 🎵 Finger Independence 🎵 Pattern Memory 🎵 Finger Coordination 🎵 Concentration 🎵 Mizrab Control 🎵 Technical Accuracy In This Lesson • Understanding Pattern Reversal • Four-swar reversal exercises • Three-swar reversal exercises • Five-swar reversal exercises • Continuous forward and reverse patterns • Reversal with Mizrab control • Slow → Medium → Faster → Medium → Slow practice • Aaroh and Avaroh with reversed patterns • Finger independence exercises • Pattern memory exercises • Common mistakes and how to avoid them The objective is to train both your mind and fingers to respond comfortably when the direction of a pattern changes. Remember: Forward → Reverse and: Slow → Medium → Faster → Medium → Slow Do not force your fingers or chase speed. Build accuracy and control first.
