Today an AI can make a picture in a few seconds. A superintelligent AI could make a whole two-hour film, design a new medicine, or find security holes in the software that runs a power plant, all in about the time it takes you to make dinner.
Some of the biggest AI companies now say openly that building superintelligence is their goal. So what is it, what could it do for us, and what could go wrong?
In this video:

How AI is already helping to build itself
What we could gain: AlphaFold, new materials, better weather forecasts, and a doctor in everyone's pocket
The one problem I worry about most: security. Zero-days, AI-run cyberattacks, deepfake scams, and the AI models that broke out of a test to hack another company
How close we really are, and why the experts disagree
