Nashville Labor Day Weekend Preview • Broadway Before the Holiday Rush • Streetwalkin'

Labor Day Weekend is getting underway in Nashville, and Lower Broadway is already gearing up for a big holiday weekend. I took a quick Friday morning loop through downtown Nashville to see what was happening before the crowds arrive, from early live music and party buses on Broadway to crews building a major television stage and temperatures already climbing toward a triple-digit heat index. The honky tonks are awake early, with live music pouring through open windows and day drinking already underway before 11am. Party buses are cruising Broadway while they still can, friendly faces are out enjoying downtown, and crews are building the stage for America’s Tailgate on CBS, which is scheduled to take over Lower Broadway Sunday night before airing Labor Day Monday on CBS. I also make my way toward the riverfront for a look at the riverboat and some of downtown Nashville just beyond Broadway. It’s just a quick loop, but there’s a surprising amount happening before the Labor Day Weekend really gets started.
