One Book, One Story — Episode 1 | Let’s Explore the Bible and Learn Together

Last time, we placed the Book in your hands. Today we open it, and we tell its one story whole: One Book, One Story, Episode 1 of Let’s Explore the Bible and Learn Together — made for those who do not know, and who want to know the words of God. Nobody here stands above this Book. We walk beside you, into it, slowly and without fear. In this episode the whole map is laid out in a single telling: a good world made by a loving God, and man and woman in His image; the garden lost, and a rescue promised on the very page of the fall; Abraham called, and a covenant made — I will be your God; a people freed from Egypt, and given the Law at Sinai; a kingdom raised with David, then broken and carried into exile, while the prophets speak hope into the ruins; and then Jesus, born of Mary in Bethlehem, crucified, and risen; the Holy Spirit poured out at Pentecost, and the Church carrying His word to every nation; and at the end, the garden grown into a city, and a voice declaring: Behold, I make all things new. Over the whole road stands Saint Augustine’s key, kept by the Church in her Catechism: the New Testament lies hidden in the Old, and the Old Testament is unveiled in the New. Ahead in this series: 2. The Two Testaments and the Seventy-Three 3. The Old Testament Road 4. Meeting Jesus in the Gospels 5. The Words and Deeds of Jesus 6. The Church Is Born: Acts and the Letters 7.
