In July 2024, I embarked on a summer bicycle adventure across Croatia, riding from the capital city of Zagreb down through the rugged heartland and along the dramatic Dalmatian Coast to Trogir.
My route started in Zagreb before heading south into the countryside through Karlovac and Slunj, home to the scenic Rastoke waterfalls. From there, I explored the iconic turquoise lakes and cascades of Plitvice Lakes National Park, passed through historic Udbina, and tackled a challenging, scorching off-road stretch to Knin and its majestic fortress.
Continuing south, I visited the breathtaking waterfalls of Krka National Park at Skradin, reached the Adriatic coast at the UNESCO-listed city of Šibenik, and cycled coastal roads through Split, Omiš, and the peaceful village of Marušići before wrapping up the journey in historic Trogir.
This 3-week trip was a mix of intense summer heat, gravel trails, historic old towns, emerald rivers, and coastal rides along the crystal-clear Adriatic Sea.
