Digestion 1: Introduction and Process Overview

Quite often, pupils are taught about the digestive system, but not necessarily exactly what digestion is and why the body needs to do it. That is what this video concentrates on, looking at what digestion actually is. To get the most out of this lesson, you should have watched the 3 lessons in the Proteins playlist, and ideally the cell biology lessons, though it does make sense without them. After this, go to "Digestion 2: The Digestive system", which is the more traditional run through of the main physiological structures and how they are adapted to digestion. Enjoy.
