Harlow Kincaid × Coyote Signal - Cattle Guard | Country EDM Song (Official Video)

Cattle Guard by Harlow Kincaid × Coyote Signal. A country EDM song by a female country singer about leaving town before sunrise, with nothing but the rattle of a cattle guard for a goodbye. Quarter to five in the morning. The coffee's gone cold, there's still glitter on her knuckles from the party in the field, and every porch light on Jefferson Street is dark. Nobody's watching but the dog by the feed. She leaves a note on the kitchen chair. Two lines, no reasons, just "I won't be there." Sage turns over on the second try. At the edge of town the tires hit the cattle guard, steel on rubber, iron on ground, and that rattle is the only goodbye she's giving. Don't send the sheriff. The road does the rest. By mile marker forty the radio wakes up with the farm report and the sun paints the grain bin rose. Her phone lights up and she lets it go. Back home somebody will find the note when they find their keys and call her mama, and her mama will say "let her be." Window down, wind in the cab, and for the first time in years she isn't holding her breath. Turns out it wasn't the cattle guard that rattled. It was her. Cattle Guard is from Calls After Midnight, Harlow's second album, made with Coyote Signal: country meets techno, long nights out on the land, and a DJ nobody has ever seen in daylight.
