The demons' red gourd calls a name, and whoever answers is sucked inside. Wukong thinks a made-up name will keep him safe, so he bangs on the door of Lotus Cave as "Zhe Xingsun". King Silver Horn calls, Wukong answers, and whoosh, in he goes anyway. Inside the gourd he pretends his legs and arms have gone soft, slips out as a tiny bug when the kings peel off the seal, turns into a little demon with a tea tray, and swaps the real gourd for a fake made from one of his hairs. Back he comes as "Xingzhe Sun". This time the king's gourd does nothing, and when Wukong holds up the real one and calls "King Silver Horn!", the demon answers and is caught by his own trick. King Golden Horn raises a wall of fire with his palm-leaf fan, but Wukong somersaults over it, takes the white jade bottle and calls him in a squeaky voice. In the end Laozi arrives on a cloud: the gourd and the bottle are his, and the two kings are the boys who mind his furnaces.
