Project Gray Area continues! Steve Morris brought me this Ford Ranger, and now we're getting one step closer to turning it into the truck it's supposed to be. In this episode, we're tackling the transmission installation, including getting the transmission and crossmember where they need to be, modifying the floor for clearance, installing the steering, and getting everything ready for the next major step — laying out the headers. The headers will be the focus of the next episode, but there's plenty of fabrication and problem-solving in this one. I'm also going through some of the tips, tricks and things I've learned along the way that can help if you're building your own Ford Ranger, swapping a drivetrain, installing a transmission, modifying the floor or dealing with steering and header clearance.
