Tweedy Mountain: Highpoint of the Pioneer Range

Continuing this summer's trend of climbing Montana's mountain range high points. The weekend forecast had warned of snow levels dropping to 6,000 feet, so we wanted to get at least one more peak in the higher elevations. We camped just a few miles from the trailhead, and awoke to a thick layer of frost. The climb itself is relatively straightforward, with lots of loose and potentially dangerous rocks in both the couloirs and NE ramp. Gorge lake was beautiful, a place I would like to come back to spend a night or two!
