Hello 😊 This is Journey Walker! Today, I’d like to take you on a walking journey through one of Japan’s beautiful towns. In this video, we explore Ota-juku, located in Minokamo City, Gifu Prefecture. Ota-juku once flourished as a post town along the Nakasendo, one of the major routes connecting Edo and Kyoto during the Edo period. Today, historic buildings and traditional townscapes still remain. Unlike major tourist destinations, Ota-juku is a relatively quiet place where you can still feel the atmosphere of everyday life among the historic streets. Starting from Mino-Ota Station, we walk toward Ota-juku, passing retro shops, temples, the Kiso River, and historic buildings along the way.
