Before I went no contact with my mother, there was a whole childhood, a whole family, and years of experiences that shaped our relationship. This is where my story begins. In Episode 1 of my No Contact With My Mother series, I’m taking you back to my childhood and sharing some of the family experiences, memories, and moments that I didn't fully understand until I became an adult. I want to tell this story honestly not to convince anyone to go no contact with their own family, but to help you understand why I made the decision I eventually made. Growing up, there were things I thought were completely normal because… well, that's the family I knew. It wasn't until I got older that I started looking back at certain experiences differently and asking myself questions I never had the words to ask as a child. This is the beginning of that story. There will be difficult stories, childhood memories, family dynamics, healing, and eventually the story of why I chose no contact.
