South Africa Weather for Today & Tomorrow Update Today’s weather brings a mix of cool and partly cloudy conditions to the northeast, with occasional light showers lingering over Limpopo, Mpumalanga, and KwaZulu-Natal Province. In stark contrast, the west will see another blustery afternoon as winds shift more northerly, bringing warm, dry berg wind conditions across the Southern Cape. The South African Weather Service has issued Yellow Level 2 warnings for severe thunderstorms in Gauteng Province, central to eastern North West, and central to western Limpopo, where heavy rain, hail, strong winds, and frequent lightning may cause localized flooding and damage to infrastructure. Damaging wind warnings are also in effect for the Nelson Mandela Bay district, as well as Sundays River Valley, with potential disruptions to coastal activities and navigation. Additionally, extremely high fire danger persists in the Kamiesberg areas of the Western Cape Province, where hot and windy conditions could rapidly spread fires.
