Beneath the roots, beneath the stone,
Something moves I’ve never known.
No beginning, no defined end,
A silent pulse where all things blend.
The stars are sparks upon the skin,
The void is breathing from within.
What I call “me,” what I call “you,”
Are waves that rise and travel through.
I am a ripple in the field,
A moment breaking, then revealed.
Nothing is empty, nothing still,
The dark is humming underneath it all.
I let the ground remember me,
I let the river carry what I can’t see.
And somewhere underneath my skin,
The whole wide universe begins.
Atoms dancing in the deep,
Invisible songs beneath my feet.
Particles appear, then disappear,
Like passing thoughts I hold too near.
I chase control, I name the sky,
I draw my borders, ask it why.
But every boundary that I make
Is another wave upon the lake.
Maybe I don’t have to know
Where every hidden current goes.
Maybe mystery isn’t something
I was ever meant to overcome.
So I breathe beneath the moon,
Feel the earth beneath me move.
For one brief moment, I release
The need to understand the peace.
I am a ripple in the field,
A fleeting shape that learns to yield.
Nothing is empty, nothing gone,
Everything becomes something else to carry on.
I let the silence speak to me,
I let the roots descend below.
And somewhere underneath my skin,
Beyond the things I’ll ever know—
The field is here.
The field is near.
And I am part of what is here.
