We discovered an incredible oasis in the heart of rural Spain! We're exploring Nuévalos in the province of Zaragoza, home to the spectacular Monastery of Piedra, an 11th-century monastery surrounded by lush woodland, rivers and an amazing series of waterfalls. We take a beautiful walk along the Piedra River to reach the monastery before exploring its fascinating ruins and discovering the waterfall park. With cascades around almost every corner, peaceful woodland paths and even a walk behind one of the waterfalls, this really is a special place to visit. We also explore the little Spanish town of Nuévalos, perched above the Piedra River and Tranquera Reservoir, discovering its historic buildings, medieval watchtower and some fascinating remnants of the villages that once occupied the valley. And of course, we'll show you where we're staying in our VW campervan at Camping Lago Resort, with its beautiful lakeside setting.
