Seal scrum

The pre-breeding scrum has kicked off. The really big (and wiser) bulls are either asleep on the sandbank conserving energy or still packing on the pounds out at sea. A mixture of young adults ready to breed, young bulls trying their luck with unmated females and young bulls "jousting" to establish a pecking order. Although teeth are on show, I didn't see any injuries. The really serious fights start once the cows wean their pups and become ready for mating.
