You can want something properly, decide it, mean it — and still lose to a phone lying faceup not far from your hand. That isn't a character problem. It's a distance problem.
This is a video of the Procrastination Series, and it's the first one that stops working on you and starts working on the room you're in.
It also names the thing that actually wears people down over the years — not the undone task, but what happens to your trust in your own plans when you've been overruled by yourself enough times.
Self-control isn't one moment you pass or fail. It's a timeline — and the moment is the most expensive place on it. In this video: the reach test, how to make the first physical move easy without trying to make the whole task easy, why making the wrong thing harder means buying two seconds rather than building a wall, and how a canteen food distribute placement makes different can teach you about your own kitchen table, and why the setup has to be built when you're calm rather than when you're in it.
There's a short grounding exercise near the end — two objects, forty seconds — and you'll be able to tell straight away whether it works on you.
