Light slows in glass. Does it get tired, hit atoms, or change color? Follow the electrical response of matter, coherent fields, wavelength, refraction, dispersion, lenses and fiber optics.
The index n=1.5 is an illustrative phase-speed example, not a universal glass value or a pulse/group-speed measurement. At a stationary boundary the transmitted frequency stays the same. Original ray paths, fields, wavefronts and polarization markers are explanatory models with enlarged wavelengths, exaggerated displacement and compressed time. Ordinary glass is amorphous; the dots do not depict a crystal lattice. NASA LCRD footage shows optical hardware, not a measurement of glass slowing light. Real caustics combine reflection and refraction.
