*What if you could ride a drill pod 6,371 kilometers straight down to the center of the Earth?* Max climbs into a drill pod the size of a car and heads for the one place no human has ever been: Earth's core. He passes the deepest mine on the planet, then the bottom of the deepest hole ever drilled, and keeps going. He drops through rock that flows like toffee and into a world as hot as the surface of the Sun. But his coolant is running out. And deep in the mantle, his best friend Theo is stuck with a failing pod. Max can reach the center of the Earth, or he can turn back for Theo. He can't do both.
