This Is the Real New Mexico | Continental Divide Trail

This section of the Continental Divide Trail took me from Grants to Cuba, through one of the most unforgettable landscapes I experienced in New Mexico. Heat, thirst, long water carries and vast stretches of empty country. Vultures circling overhead. Nights spent camping far from roads and towns. And mile after mile of a landscape that felt like the Wild West I had imagined before coming here. There is no narration in this film. Just the trail, natural sounds, occasional music and aerial footage of the landscape as I experienced it. This wasn't the easiest section of the CDT — water was often the biggest concern — but it gave me some of my favorite campsites and some of the strongest memories from New Mexico.
