The over 6-km-long tunnel has undergone final lining, with only track bed installation, signalling, and telecom work remaining. Engineers have incorporated a continuous drainage channel system inside the tunnel to manage water seepage. The project also features advanced infrastructure, including a false portal, rock bolting for slope stability, and nearby railway bridges, including one for the escape tunnel.
