We FINALLY Fired Up Our Supercharged 540 BBC Opel GT!

The moment we've been waiting for... we're FINALLY firing up the supercharged 540 BBC Opel GT! Of course, nothing ever goes quite according to plan... We kick things off with some battery issues that leave us unable to even crank the engine over. Surely that couldn't have anything to do with the battery cable shorting out when we pulled the engine... right? After fighting to get the battery out of its box and swapping it out, we're finally ready to crank it over. Or so we thought... Turns out we'd completely forgotten about a hidden neutral safety switch! With that sorted, it was finally time to see if this thing would come to life... AND IT FIRED RIGHT UP!!! 🔥 What a relief to hear everything making the noises it's supposed to, especially considering I was the one who assembled the engine! With the first startup out of the way, we work through a few more heat cycles, checking the tune, monitoring temperatures, and trying to get the big block idling nicely with its new cam and lifters.
