“Hope Ne Phir India Ko Rula Diya! 🔥 102 (50), Series 2-2”*
West Indies beat India by 24 runs in the fourth T20I at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad, to level the five-match series 2-2 and set up a series decider in Bengaluru on October 17.
India won the toss and chose to field. Captain Shai Hope then took the game away with an unbeaten 102 off just 50 balls, including 4 fours and 9 sixes. He reached his fifty off 28 balls and completed his century on the very last ball of the innings with two successive sixes. It was his second century of the series and his third in T20 Internationals. Sherfane Rutherford added an unbeaten 49 off 26 balls, and West Indies finished on a huge 247/3.
India started their chase aggressively, with Sanju Samson giving them an explosive start, and Tilak Varma and Nitish Kumar Reddy put up a fight in the middle. But Keemo Paul was the difference with the ball, taking 5 wickets for 41 runs, and India were bowled out for 223 in 19.4 overs, 24 runs short.
The series now stands at 2-2: India won the first match by 8 wickets and the third by 14 runs, while West Indies won the second by 6 wickets (chasing 250) and the fourth by 24 runs.
In this video, we break down Hope’s captain’s knock, Keemo Paul’s spell, where India’s bowling went wrong, and what the final match in Bengaluru could look like.
