He took a throne by killing seventy of his brothers on one stone. Three years later, at the door of a tower, a woman dropped a millstone on his head. His name was Abimelech. His father was Gideon — the man who told Israel, "I will not rule over you, neither shall my son rule over you." Gideon refused a crown. His son killed for one. One brother escaped, climbed a mountain, and told a story about trees and a bramble that came true word for word. So how does the son of the man who refused a crown end up killing seventy brothers for one — and lose it to a stone thrown by a woman the text never names? This video retells the story using only the biblical text — no legends, no outside theories. 📖 Sources: Judges 8:22 – 9:57 · 2 Samuel 11:21 Scripture quotations are from the World English Bible (public domain). 0:00 One stone, one tower 0:48 The father who refused a crown 1:59 Seventy brothers on one stone 3:50 The brother who survived 4:07 The bramble that wanted to be king 5:30 Three years, then the crack 7:09 Fire came out from Abimelech 7:58 A woman at the tower of Thebez 8:51 A story about stones 9:38 Who killed him?
