She was arrested from Haridwar. According to police, Sadhana had earlier been living with Raj Kumar in Jahangirpuri in a live-in relationship without marriage. The relationship was opposed by Balwant Ram, the father of Deepak alias Babloo, and his family. Police said that following the dispute and resentment, Deepak was kidnapped and murdered. During the investigation, Sadhana's role came to light and she was arrested along with Raj Kumar. She was subsequently convicted in the kidnapping and murder conspiracy case and sentenced to life imprisonment, a sentence that was also upheld by the Delhi High Court. After spending several years in jail, Sadhana was released on parole on December 27, 2005. Her parole was later extended by three weeks on medical grounds. However, she was required to surrender on January 18, 2006, but instead she disappeared and remained absconding. After jumping parole, Sadhana allegedly began concealing her identity to evade arrest. During this period, she stayed with Raj Kumar, a resident of Tilak Nagar, Delhi. She later moved to Noida, where she started working for a private company. While working in Noida, she met a man named Keshav, a carpenter by profession. She subsequently moved with him to Mukundpur in Delhi, where the two lived for around five years. Later, Sadhana and Keshav moved to Haridwar. There, she married Keshav in a temple and allegedly changed her identity from Sadhana to Pooja. She also used Keshav's name as her husband in documents in an attempt to conceal her real identity. For more than two decades, the life convict allegedly managed to evade the police by changing her name, identity and locations. The Inter-State Cell of the Crime Branch continued efforts to trace her through old contacts, family links and human intelligence. Eventually, police received information that she was living in Haridwar under the name Pooja. After discreet verification, the police team confirmed her identity. Sadhana alias Pooja was finally apprehended from Haridwar on September 27, 2026, bringing an end to her more than 20-year-long abscondence. She has now been sent back to jail as per legal procedure.
