Impact & Community Film - COTTAGE AUTISM NETWORK WEXFORD CLG (CAN)

Twenty years of parent-led support. One community built around belonging, strengths and possibility. For 20 years, Cottage Autism Network (CAN) has supported autistic children and teenagers and their families across County Wexford. Entirely volunteer-led and parent-run, CAN creates welcoming and adapted spaces where young people can take part, build friendships, discover their strengths and develop confidence, skills and greater independence. This film brings together just some of that work: surfing and paddleboarding, inclusive football and GAA camps, therapeutic horse riding, aerial fitness, youth clubs, creative activities, Respite Fusion Camps, family support and the CAN Mobile Sensory Unit. At the heart of everything we do is one important question: “What’s Strong with You?” We don’t focus on deficits. We recognise abilities, encourage individual interests and create opportunities for young people to explore their potential. This film was created for CAN’s presentation as part of the 2026 IPB Pride of Place Awards, in association with Co-operation Ireland. We are parents. We are volunteers. We are a community.
