After 4,000 miles and around 16 months of owning my Royal Enfield Classic 650, has my opinion of the bike changed?
When I first rode the Classic 650, I wasn't entirely convinced. I had expectations about what this motorcycle should be, and initially I wondered whether Royal Enfield had got it quite right.
But living with a bike is very different from taking it for a test ride. After thousands of miles exploring the back roads of Hampshire, riding through the countryside and tackling faster roads, I've had time to discover what I really think.
And perhaps I was looking at it all wrong.
In this video, I revisit the Royal Enfield Classic 650 to look at the things that matter when you actually own one: real-world fuel economy, long-distance comfort, engine vibrations, the accessories I've fitted, and what I would change if I were the Product Manager responsible for the bike.
Most importantly, I answer the question: do I plan to keep my Classic 650, or am I already thinking about my next motorcycle?

04:35 – Royal Enfield Classic 650 fuel economy: what mpg am I getting?
06:29 – Comfort: how does it feel on longer rides?
09:28 – Engine vibrations: are they still an issue after 4,000 miles?
11:11 – Accessories: what have I added, and are they worth it?
14:03 – If I were the Product Manager, what would I change?
18:39 – Am I keeping the Classic 650?
This isn't a spec-sheet review or a first-ride impression. It's an honest reflection on what I've learned from owning and riding the bike.
Because sometimes, the bike you think you want and the bike you actually enjoy owning turn out to be two different things.
Thanks for watching, and if you own a Royal Enfield Classic 650, I'd love to hear about your experiences in the comments. Do you agree with my observations, and what would you change about the bike?
