Before asking God for anything else today, this morning prayer of gratitude invites you to notice the blessings, answered prayers, and ordinary gifts that have quietly become part of your everyday life. Think about something you once prayed for with all your heart. Perhaps it was a job, a home, a relationship, or the end of a difficult season. At one time, having that very thing seemed almost unimaginable. But as the years passed, what once felt like an answered prayer gradually became familiar, and you may have stopped noticing how much it meant. Through this Christian morning prayer of thanksgiving, we ask God to open our eyes to what is already present rather than beginning every day focused on what is missing. We thank Him for the people who stand beside us, the work that gives us purpose, the abilities our bodies still have, and the countless acts of kindness that make ordinary life possible. We also pray for contentment without complacency. Gratitude does not mean ignoring pain, abandoning our hopes, or pretending that difficult circumstances are good. It means recognizing what has been given while remaining honest about what we still need. We can thank God for today's blessings and continue praying for tomorrow's needs. This prayer also encourages us to express appreciation more openly, whether by thanking someone we love, recognizing a stranger's kindness, or remembering a second chance we were once given. As you begin your day with God, take a moment to look around. Some of the things surrounding you today may be the very answers you once hoped and prayed to receive. What is something you once prayed for that you are grateful to have today? Subscribe for the next morning prayer:    / @firstlightwithin   First Light Within is an independent prayer channel.
