Today, we begin our journey early in the morning from Devghat, where we will show you the traditional Pind Daan rituals performed at Devghat and the sacred surroundings of the Falgu River. From Devghat, our journey continues towards Sitakund, where we will show the Pind Daan rituals . After Sitakund, we will proceed towards Suryakund and then Vishnupad Temple, where we will show the important Vishnupad Vedi Pind Daan rituals. From Vishnupad, we will descend the steps and visit Gaya Shir Vedi, followed by Koop Vedi where we’ll know about special pind dan. Our next destination is Vaitarani Sarovar, located about 500 meters from Koop Vedi. Before reaching Vaitarani Sarovar, we will also show you one of the major free food Bhandaras of the Gaya Pitru Paksha Mela, where devotees and pilgrims are served food free of cost. At Vaitarani Sarovar, we will explain the religious tradition of Gau Daan (cow donation) and its significance in Pitru Paksha. Finally, our journey will reach its most important destination — Akshay Vat, where the Pind Daan rituals are traditionally brought to completion. According to the well-known religious tradition associated with Gaya, Mata Sita performed Pind Daan for King Dasharatha at this sacred place, and Akshay Vat is believed to have witnessed the event.
