All 30 NFL stadiums ranked by capacity, from the smallest full-size bowl in the league to the only building that seats 82,500. The real story isn't the order. It's that teams are quietly taking seats out, and every seat that's left costs dramatically more to build. In 2009, 105,121 people watched a regular season game in Arlington, and that record is probably safe forever, because nothing being built today comes anywhere near that size. Buffalo opened Highmark Stadium in 2026 with 11,500 fewer seats than the stadium it replaced, Nashville is cutting about 9,000, Jacksonville will drop to around 62,000 when its rebuild finishes, and the Chiefs are headed to a dome that holds fewer people than Arrowhead. Meanwhile the cost of a single seat has gone from about $30 at Lambeau Field in 1957 to roughly $78,000 at the most expensive stadium in the league, with seat licenses in some cities now running as high as $50,000. We go through every stadium, who paid for it, how many seats it has gained or lost, and what each remaining seat actually cost to build.
