This eight-and-a-half-mile circular walk begins at Parson’s Close Recreation Ground in Leighton Buzzard, blending urban vibrancy with countryside serenity. The route first meanders through the town’s historic streets before easing into the peaceful woodland trails of Heath Wood, where towering trees offer quiet shelter. Rushmere Country Park follows, its expansive landscapes and winding paths providing a scenic interlude, before the walk meets the tranquil waters of the Grand Union Canal, where narrowboats drift lazily by. Pressing on through Heath Meadow, open fields and scattered hedgerows shape the journey before Knolls Wood welcomes walkers into its shaded embrace. Finally, the path loops back toward Parson’s Close Recreation Ground, completing a route rich in variety, where town and nature weave together in perfect harmony.
