A great ragtime medley notable for the date it was published, 1897, when ragtime was a new and still evolving music form. In fact the cover refers to it as "The Present Day Fad". Composer/arranger Max Hoffmann (1873-1963) did a great job of taking seven songs from the era and turning them into ragtime instrumentals. Much of his adaptation was original and considered in retrospect to have been ahead of its time. Two more medleys were published, one in 1898 and one in 1899, both continuing with the same idea. Hoffmann at the time was working for music publisher M. Witmark in New York mainly as an arranger and orchestrator, but from this period forward his high quality work attracted the attention of Broadway. Much of his time in the early part of the 20th century was spent as composer, arranger, director and conductor of musicals performed in New York City. Original score source was from the Charles Templeton Sheet Music Collection at Mississippi State University at this llink: https://scholarsjunction.msstate.edu/... This is a reproduction of the 1897 musical score. Thanks to JohnJ1995 for the great suggestion.
